*beep, beep*

You looked up from your laptop, where you were currently watching Superman, to see who was texting you. It was Feliciano Vargas, the Italian kid who always loved to cook and eat pasta.

Message: Heyyy! Sorry for dropping this so late but there's gonna be a awesome Christmas pasta/surprise party at my house, on Christmas Eve!! Also Germany is making his awesome German chocolate cake!! But everyone can bring food and presents!(((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) I hope to see everyone there! And especially presents for you know who (; Vee~ I hope you all come!! P.S. don't tell (friend's name)!!

    -Feliciano ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

"Hmm..." You thought about what plans you had next weekend; Those were nonexistent. "I guess I'll go."

Then you resumed what you were doing, but in the back of your mind you hoped that Alfred would be going too. Not that he was the type to miss out on a party, anyway. Especially a party held by his friends.

-

"De nanananaa na, de nanananaa BATMAN" your phone sang, signaling you that Alfred was calling you. The dork set the batman theme as his ringtone on your phone, and you still hadn't changed it back. Too lazy.

"What up!" You gasped into the phone, since you ran a bunch of flights of stair to answer the phone. This is why you shouldn't leave your phone alone.

"You seemed out of breath..." You can hear him smirk into the phone, "has my heroic-ness left you speechless??" He asked so smugly, sometimes you swear you can just wipe that smug look off his face. If he was in front of you right at this moment, you wouldn't hesitate to.

"Yes, yes it has." You replied back as you walked back downstairs to retrieve your awesome sandwich you were working on in the kitchen.

You heard him give a small gasp through the phone. "Really?" He asked, actually surprised you answered him with a yes. He asks this question a lot, and 'yes' is definitely not a normal answer you like to give him. Torturing him by saying 'of course not' was your preferred reply.

"Oh yeah..." You explained to him, as if you were actually fascinated by his heroic nature. "It surprises me sometimes how much you call yourself a hero when you couldn't even do a simple errand I needed you to do for me. I mean, seriously- a hero can't buy me a few items from the convenience store located conveniently 3 minutes from your house?"

"Hey! The only reason I couldn't do that is because you made me get your weird feminine stuff!" He argued. You could only imagine the harsh pout on his face right now- and that was hilarious.

Sarcastically, you told him, "Oh! That's a pretty big word you used there, Al! Feminine, I'm surprised that such a complicated word like that is apart of your limited vocabulary!"

"Shut it (y/n)!" He said grumpily, "Well, since you're being so mean to me, I should be mean to you now!"

"Oh what are you gonna do?" You challenged and then entered the kitchen.

"This." He hangs up and you look up to see Alfred, in a superman tee shirt (how typical) and some jeans, right in front of you, holding your delicious sandwich you've been working hard on.

A normal person would be confused and maybe even scared at the fact that someone managed to get into their house. You, on the other hand? This was a normal occasion for you. Alfred was the type of person to just- well- show up at your house. Uninvited and unwarranted. You never bothered to ask him how he gets in, though. It's just one of life's great mysteries.

Your eyes narrowed on the enemy. "You wouldn't."

"I would." He smirks, then mockingly starts to put the sandwich in his mouth, as if he was gong to eat. But, you would not let him eat your sandwich no matter what.

You jumped from where you were standing and tackled your patriotic friend to the ground. Although fighting to the death was the option both of you wanted to follow, neither of you wanted to risk destroying the sandwich. So, the 'fighting' that ensued was more like elbowing each other lightly to try and get someone to give up.

Eventually, you two agreed on just splitting the sandwich in half. Mainly because, in the midst of your battle, you ripped the sandwich apart.

"You're getting the smaller half if we go half-ies on my beautiful sandwich." You told him begrudgingly, obviously unhappy sharing your sandwich with him. You made the damn thing for yourself.

"Fine." he said, and you noticed an ever so light red tint on his cheeks.

Confused, you asked, "why are you blushing?"

"Well, it could be the position we're in right now." As he said that you took notice on the position you two were in. You were holding your precious sandwich in your hands while you were straddling on top of his hips. You immediately stood up and off of him.

"Oops! Sorry!" You squeaked as you fixed your (favorite band) shirt and (f/c) pajama shorts.

"Nah.." He said, also getting up and then rubbing the back if his neck, "it's cool.."

You mentally wanted to slap yourself. Why did you have to end up in such a compromising position? You're best friends, nothing more than that. Something like that shouldn't affect your friendship, right? Why did it have to be a big deal?

After a few moments of awkward silence, Alfred decided to break the silence.

"So, did you get invited to Feli's Christmas party?" He asked after taking a bite of his smaller half of the sandwhich.

"Course I did. You did too, I assume?"

"Yup."

It was awkward again; God, this silence was gonna be the death of you. This never happens between the two of you. What was the issue right now? Was it the awkward moment you two just shared? You didn't know, and that was starting to bother you.

"Do you think you can give me a lift to their house on Christmas Eve?" You asked him meekly, desperately hoping to break the silence.

"Why? What happened to your car?

"Well, you see, it's in the shop, because the car in front of me was trying to parallel park. But, we got into a little fender-bender." Alfred laughed at your explanation, prompting you to playfully punch him in the arm.

"But, you're okay though, right?" He asked worriedly, after he recovered from the injury you just gave him. The fact that he was worrying was kind of unsettling, since Alfred wasn't the type to get serious like that.

"Obviously," you chided sarcastically. "If I wasn't, why would I still be here?"

"Oh, you're right." Alfred chuckled a little, but you could swear there was still a glint of worry in his eye. Nonetheless, you brushed it off.

You suddenly remembered. "So, was there a reason you decided to break into my house today? Or was it solely to destroy my hopes and dreams of having my awesome sandwich?"

"Oh yeah," he smiled. "I was gonna ask you if you wanted to go buy some presents for the party!" Thank God, Alfred had returned back to his normal, happy self.

"Sure! If love to go, just wait here. I have to go change." Then you ran up stairs to change.

-

You were dressed up in a black, oversized sweater, a (f/c) shirt underneath, jeans, and some gray fluffy boots with your (h/l) (h/c) done naturally. You and Alfred, who looked painfully cold while wearing his usual brown bomber jacket, were currently walking down the streets in a city downtown. It was only about 5 PM, but, since it was winter, the sun was already setting behind the horizon.

"I love the decorations around the city this time of year." You smiled, staring at all the twinkling lights and the sparkly snow. When you ignore the cold temperatures, winter is truly a beautiful season.

"Yeah, me too." He agreed, enjoying the view also while also being on the verge of freezing to death, “Even though winter isn't my favorite season.”

You turned your head to look at Alfred. "Ya' know, you could be wearing a heavier jacket than that. You're freezing." A shop in the distance caught your attention; A toy shop! Grabbing Alfred's freezing arm, you said, "Dude! A toy shop!"

"Well what are we waiting for! Let's go!" Then, you two ran off towards the you store like little kids would.

-

"That was fun!" You hummed, stepping out of the toy store with an awesome nerf gun you got for Gilbert. Normally you wouldn't bother to get the narcissistic anything for Christmas, but you did owe him this year.

"You can say that again," Alfred laughed."and, who is that for?"

"Oh, this?" You left up the bag slightly, "It's for Gilbert; I owed him one for giving me the mechanic who is fixing my car."

"What can you say, in a perfect world, all mechanic should be German."

You continued walking before stopping in front of a jewelry store, because something had caught your eye. Alfred kept walking for a few moments, not noticing you stopped until afterwards. He walked back towards you.

"Hey (y/n), whatcha lookin' at?" Alfred asked, also looking inside the display window. He was trying to pin point what you were staring at, but he couldn't quite figure it out among the many articles of jewelry in the window.

"That locket." You pointed to a silver heart-shaped locket with a small, intricate designs etched onto it. "It reminds me of the one my Mother used to have."

The fond memory of your deceased mother came into your mind. You always loved the way she would talk about her precious heirlooms, especially a silver locket. The decision you made that she would be buried with that locket around her neck. She always wanted to pass it down to you one day.. but she died before she had the chance.

Alfred noticed you deeply entranced with the small locket. Interesting; You never were one to get interested in jewelry. He then got a brilliant idea.

"(Y/n), let's keep shopping. We have a lot of people to buy presents for." He smiled at you.

"Oh," you sighed. Breaking your focus off of the locket, you nodded. "Yeah, let's keep moving."

-

A week later, it was the night of the party and you decided to wear a (f/c) sweater dress, black leggings, and some gray boots. Your hair was done in very curly, down, and a cute little black headband. You make-up was close to non-existence, with the exception of a layer of lip gloss just to protect your lips from being chapped. It was below freezing, after all.

You gathered all of your neatly wrapped presents and put them in a bag for easier transporting. Then, you heard your doorbell go off.

"Al's here." You said to no one as you looked at yourself in the mirror, making sure nothing looked out of place. Not that anyone would really care, though. Who could be dumb enough to point out a flaw on you?

You opened the door to see Alfred, dressed up in some black pants, a forest green button up shirt with a red tie, covered by his favorite ugly Christmas sweater. The thing was horrendous; Alfred has worn it every year since he got it, and you were just begging for the year the sweater got too small for him to wear.

"God damn it, Al," You jeered. "That ugly sweater again?"

"Of course! Why wouldn't I wear it? It's the only time of year I can wear it, ya' know!" With a smug look on his face, he adjusted his bright red tie that horribly went well with his sweater.

"Uh, huh," you rolled your eyes. "Well let's get going! I wanna get some of that cake before Feli eats it all!"

"Don't worry about that, he'll be too busy eating pasta." He laughed.

-

"(Y/n)!!" Feli said as he went to hug you, "Vee~ I'm so happy you came, Bella!"

"I wouldn't miss this for the world!" You smiled back at him, "You guys throw the best parties!"

"Aww!! Grazie, (y/n)!" He praised, "Oh and Alfred!"

"Yeah?" Alfred asked.

"Arthur asked me to tell you to find him once you got to the a party."

"Ok!"Al turns to you, "BRB, okay? I'll catch up with you later."

"Yeah, see ya later." You smiled at him, as he turned and left to look for his best friend.

"Vee~! That was so cute, Bella!!" Feli gushed at the sweet moment shared by the you two. "Are you two-a smitten??"

"What?!" You blushed intensely, "Me and Al are just friends."

"Just 'friends'?" He asked as he gave her a 'nonsense' look, "You and Alfred are just as friends as Arthur and (friend's name) are just as friends."

"But, we are!" You protested, even though you knew it was no use to argue against him.

"Uh, huh..." He smirked but then hugged you one last time. "Well now let's-a now enjoy the party! We'll talk about this next-a time."

-

It was almost midnight and you were having the time of your life. (Friend's name) and Arthur were officially together! It was a joyous sight, and the little puppy he gave her was absolutely adorable! Then, you noticed seine was calling your name; It was Arthur.

"Oh, hey." You greeted as you walked over to him.

"Alfred was asking if you needed a ride back home tonight?" He asked. In your mind, you were wondering why Alfred didn't just tell you himself. You never saw him

"Yeah, I do need one." You relied back, "is he leaving already?"

"I think so," he said. Looking at the front door, he shrugged. "But, I'm not entirely sure. You can go see if he's by the car or not."

"Ok, thanks, Arthur!" You smiled at him as you went to grab your bag and coat, then headed outside. The temperature dropped even lower than earlier, causing you to shiver.

Once you were outside, you looked for Alfred's glossy, navy blue Audi on the curb near the Vargas' home. You spotted it and you saw Alfred talking to a man with silvery colored hair and he was just a bit taller than him. Then the man with silver hair noticed you and pointed Al towards you. The man then gave Al a pat on the back and exchanged a couple of words. Seeing the man leave, you shuffled in Alfred's direction.

“So you’re leaving now?”  You asked, your cheeks were very flushed by the frigid air.

“Well...” He started nervously, also very flushed and rubbing the back of his neck. “Not really.”

“What?” You asked, surprised, and tugged on his sleeve. “Then what are you doing out here then? Let’s get back inside, I know how much you hate this kind of weather. It's freezing, dude.”

“No, not just yet (y/n).” He spoke as he took back his arm from your grip, “I need to give you something.” The digs into his inner jacket pocket and pulls out a small, Tiffany blue, jewelry box with a tiny, (f/c) ribbon on top of it.

“Oh!” You chirped as he dropped the small box was dropped into your hands “Alfred, you didn’t need to do this.”

“No, you deserve it!” He told you forcefully, and then took your hands into his and slightly pushes the box towards your chest. “Now, open it.”

“But-” You tried to argue, but he wasn’t having it.

“Open it (y/n)! C'mon!” Alfred laughed a little, but you could hear the desperation in his voice.

“Fine.” You begrudgingly agreed to open his present. You snapped open the small, inconspicuous box to reveal the locket you were admiring at the jewelry store window a week prior to this party.

“Oh Alfred...” You were utterly speechless with tear pricking at your eyes. You were amazed that he would buy you such a present. “This- This had to have cost you a fortune!"

“(Y/n), it was no problem.” He sincerely cooed. “(Y/n), you deserve the best. And, plus, I also need to tell you one other thing.”

Your breath hitched, caught in your throat. What could he want to tell you? What was important enough to him that he would willingly wait in the cold just to tell you something?

“You see....” He nervously laughed, struggling to form his words together in his mind. “I know I’ve known you for quite some time, and we're, like, the best of friend! I love being friends with you because you're hilariously funny, sarcastic, and always fun to be around with. And, I love that! But, my feelings for you are stronger than that, (y/n). I really like you.”

You stood there speechless, in a complete loss for words. Alfred just confessed to you! He liked you; That must be why he was acting so awkward earlier. It was like your heart stopped- you had no idea how to respond.

Alfred saw you stand there in shock of what he had just said, and he quickly assumed you didn’t feel the same way. “I- uh- totally understand if you don’t return my feelings bu-” He was suddenly cut of by a pair of soft lips covering his own.

You pulled away from him and looked up with your (e/c) eyes looking deep into his sky blue ones and said, “I like you too, Al.”  And then went in for another passionate kiss, but this time Al had twirled you around in arms in the snowy sky.

-

“Vee~” Feli giggled at the sight outside his front window with (y/n) and Alfred. “It-a seems you were-a right Gilbert.”

“Ze awesome me is never vrong.” Gilbert triumphantly said, “Ze american just needed a little push.”

“It is-a magically night, huh?”

“Ja, I guess but ze awesome me should get some action just like mien stupid bruder and his new frau.”

“Don’t-a worry! It’ll be your-a turn soon!”
